How do I go about having my drinking water tested?

  1. Pick up a sterile collection kit for a water test at one of the following sites:
  2. Kenosha County Division of Health - Main Office
    8600 Sheridan Road, Suite 600, Kenosha

    Kenosha County Center - Office of Planning and Development
    19600 75th Street, Bristol

  3. Collect your water sample
    Directions are included with the collection kit. Or check directions here for collecting a sample for Nitrate or Coliform bacteria.
     
  4. Submit your water sample for testing at one of the following sites:
  5. Kenosha County Division of Health - Laboratory
    8600 Sheridan Road, Suite 600, Kenosha
    Between 8am and 4pm - Monday through Thursday

    Kenosha County Center - Office of Planning and Development
    19600 75th Street, Bristol
    Before 3:00 pm on Tuesdays only

Is there a fee for having my drinking water tested?
The testing fee is $27.00 per sample.
Pay when picking up the collection kit at Kenosha County Division of Health - Main Office or Kenosha County Division of Health Laboratory.
Insert check (payable to Kenosha County Division of Health) inside collection kit when returning sample to Kenosha County Center on Tuesdays before 3:00pm.

What other water tests besides coliform bacteria can I have done on my water?
The Kenosha County Division of Health Laboratory also tests for nitrates and fluorides in drinking water.
Each test costs $27.00 or all three tests for $70.00.

Are the Lake Michigan Beaches open today?

June 1 - November 30

Tuesday:
Union Park (45th St. & 8th Ave.) - 6:00 am - 12 noon

Wednesday:
Columbus Park (54th St. & 22nd Ave.) - 6:00 am - 12 noon

Thursday:
Lincoln Park (70th St. & 18th Ave.) - 6:00 am - 12 noon

Friday:
Baker Park (66th St. & Sheridan Rd.) - 6:00 am - 12 noon

Saturday:
Columbus Park (54th St. & 22nd Ave.) - 6:00 am - 1 pm
HarborPark Marketplace (56th St. & 2 Ave.) - 9:30 am - 2pm
